Enter & View Visit to West View lodge

On 27th January 2025 Healthwatch Hartlepool conducted an Enter and View visit to West View Lodge. The visit was our first to the home in two years and due its size and complexity was conducted by a six person visiting team.
The visit focused specifically on the care, support and wellbeing of residents at West View Lodge in both the residential and reablement/intermediate care sections of the home. This included discussions with residents, family members and staff as well as observations by members of the visiting team. Read the full report to find out how the visit went.

Brierton Lodge Care Home

Enter & View visit to Brierton Lodge Care Home

Brierton Lodge is situated in a residential area in the south of Hartlepool.
It provides personal and nursing care for up to 58 older people some of
whom are living with dementia. The home accommodates people over
two floors in one adapted building.
Our overall aims were –
• To gather feedback from residents and family members of their
impressions of care provision at Brierton Lodge and how the care
service has evolved since our previous visit in 2019.
• To gain insight into the day to day provision of care within the home
and the service provided including specific support for residents
who are living with dementia.
